It’s currently 40 degrees in Western Pennsylvania and it’s nearly mid-April! There is something about these Pittsburgh winters the last few years that is showing me why so many people go to Florida from October to May! I’m thinking this year in particular there must have been some kind of record to be had in the Farmer’s Almanac! Yesterday it was even snowing! To say it’s been a long winter is an understatement!
I’ve had several friends and family members ask me how I keep my preschooler occupied and engaged on these cold winter days. One thing we love doing is bringing the beach inside! A water table is a wonderful toy that can be used inside or outside and is a wonderful investment. When used inside, I don’t actually fill the table with water! These water beads work wonderful and are our little secret for hours of interactive fun. Just be sure your toddler or preschooler doesn’t think they are candy or try eating them! If you do order the water beads, don’t be alarmed when they arrive! The packaging looks so small but they really expand and will fill up the water table nicely. These beads are so much fun to use and less messy than kinetic sand. You could also easily use dried beans or small rocks or gems from The Dollar Tree as an alternative. Elle and I like to add in some sea shell and sea animal toys! This will keep you toddler or preschooler occupied for hours! Try it! I promise you’ll thank me later! Ha!
Can you even believe this adorable mermaid tail outfit was under $20? Yes, you read that right! It was under $20! So cute for summer and your own upcoming beach trip!
Your little girl will steal the show at the beach this summer with this gorgeous mermaid tail /mermaid bathing suit. I had so many people stop me while I was taking these photos asking where I purchased this adorable mermaid tail outfit! The best part is that the mermaid tail is removable and a swim bottom is also included making it adorable for everyday use at the pool as well. Click the link above to purchase your own or shop the post. Available in sizes 3-12 and even some other pretty colors. I found it runs a little on the smaller side so take that into consideration.
To boost my spirits, I reminisced back to our trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina last summer! Seeing my Little Mermaid enjoy the beach and warm weather in her mermaid tail bathing suit brought me so much joy on this cold and blustery day! I’ve had a request for a full Myrtle Beach Guide for families guide that I’m working on posting. My mom couldn’t believe that the shell my daughter was holding in the pictures was one we actually found in the Myrtle Beach area. We found that shell, as well as many other whelk shells in a secret location near the Myrtle Beach area. I’ll be revealing this must have Myrtle Beach excursion, along with other great ideas for your vacation in my upcoming Myrtle Beach vacation post!
