I’m so excited to share our family costumes this year! Our oldest children didn’t want to participate in our family costume this year…NOT SURE WHY! LOL. So… it’s just the three of us. My only question that remains is how long until she deserts us… and we’re back to just having a boring couple costume again?
Elle, currently 4 1/2 years old, decided months ago she wanted to Ariel from The Little Mermaid. I waited until a few weeks ago to order her costume because, Duh! She is four and I thought maybe she would change her mind a few times before the day arrived. Surprisingly, she didn’t…. And I’m just here wishing I could keep her four forever. Is that too much for a mother to ask?
After Elle insisted on being Ariel, I knew I had to get Scott in a King Triton costume. I think he should definitely win Dad of the Year for his King Triton debut! (I think he really enjoyed it. Does that sound whacked?) I really loved going back to my drama club days and pretending to be Ursula, The Evil Sea Witch. I had a blast and even got practice my love of makeup on my own face! It was a joy using some of those colors I never thought I’d get to use on my favorite palettes. It was so much fun. As I write this post, I’m still grieving the fact that my older two children didn’t want to dress with us (I really wanted them to be Sebastian and Founder or Flotsam and Jetsam!).
Are we really THAT OLD and THAT STRANGE? I’ve made it super easy for you to recreate our costumes. With everything we’ve had on our plate this year with building our home, I just didn’t have time to make homemade costumes. I think these easy to recreate costumes will still be a hit! Shop the affiliate links below and there’s no doubt in my mind that you’ll win Best Costumes! And if not, at the very least you’ll have memories with your Little Ariel to last a lifetime.
