Oh My Gosh! 😳 😱 SEE PHOTO BELOW! Yikes! I can’t even believe I’m sharing this super embarrassing and low quality iPhone picture that was taken the night before my husband and I left for our anniversary weekend getaway in 2016. Like– is it just me or do unfortunate things happen to all of you? Ha! As you can see by the picture below, I was on a lifeline phone call to my sister after my upper lip had just been waxed hours before! Jennifer!!! Are you there? Now, what do I do? I really think Jennifer is tired of bailing me out of my self- inflicted problems by now– Ha! #oldersisterproblems #firstbornproblems
This photo below actually looks somewhat mild seeing it today, compared to how the upper lip burn looked in real life on the day it happened!!! And sadly what remains two years later is a funky looking upper lip scar that I’m hoping over time evens out. Ouch!
What you see in the photo below is the direct result of me failing to mention to the esthetician who waxed my lip that I was on a Retin-A regimine for my recurrent acne problems. And yes, you better believe that I’ll be talking more than once about my struggles with acne on my blog– because my struggles with acne have been a huge part of my life! I have been on accutane not only ONCE, but TWICE- My acne has been that bad! BUT, brace yourself– ironically the silver lining of having acne was I developed a love for makeup, which in turn has lead to me to be a blogger… so you have to believe and have faith that you have a cross to carry for a reason! How exactly did acne play a role in my love of makeup? It played a HUGE part because I had to become an expert in covering up my acne and acne scars! Covering my acne was my first initial makeup challenge…and I may brag a little right now- but I became extremely good at hiding my acne using makeup. Even a dermatologist couldn’t believe how bad my skin was when she saw me sans makeup!
👆 OUCH! 👆
YEP! I did it. Posted my most EMBARRASING and VULNERABLE blog photo to date…
AND no, I do not get lip injections. But if you keep following my blog, I will definitely be sharing my secrets for fuller lips… Because surprisingly you REALLY can get fuller lips without injections.
And I’m sharing this only because I know I will get multiple messages from people… 1) Asking me if I get lip injections… or 2) Accusing me of getting my lips done…
Back to the photo- I can assure you as I look at the photo above, that I will NEVER make the mistake of waxing on Retin-A again! For those of you reading this- please believe me and NEVER EVER attempt to do facial waxing when you are using a retinol cream or are on Accutane / Isotretinoin! Your skin will definitely be burned and you will be left with a scar!
Fast forward past the weekend anniversary trip when my upper lip was not only hairless… but burned! Oh, the memories! Ha! From that point on, I tried to remove my upper lip facial hair in the best way I knew possible, which was by tweezing the hairs, one hair at a time. This was not fun, was extremely painful, and the tweezers never removed even half of the fine hairs on my upper lip. I knew there had to be a better way!
Enter into year 2017- and I don’t know what in the heck happened to my hormones, but I started to develop this peach fuzz ALL OVER my entire face! I actually blame the peach fuzz for me entering into the pre-mid life crisis phase! Lol! But honestly, I was super stressed! I was unable to wax my face because I was (and will be) on the Retin-A regimen for life. Tweezers are not capable of removing 1 million hairs- some of which are so fine you can barely see! And the little face razors I ordered from China left my skin very irritated and even caused bleeding in some spots! That is when I set out to find a solution to a problem I’m sure many of you, male or female alike are faced with- UNWANTED HAIR. My search to find a product that can remove hair in a painless, yet still effective way began!
And this, my friends, is when I found this product I’m talking about today… and the best part is– it is UNDER $20. Can you believe it? I know I couldn’t! I had to try this product out for myself to see if it really worked… and let me tell you- after using it for several months now, I have to say that this gadget under $20 has forever changed my life! NO MORE WAX BURNS for this GIRL! 😛

My Honest Review of the
Finishing Touch FLAWLESS Hair Remover
Is it really painless?
Yes! It is totally painless. You can barely feel the hairs being removed. I know- I couldn’t believe it myself!
Is it really under $20?
Yes! Follow my affiliate links to buy this product for under $20. It actually seems very durable and is well made for the price point.
Does it really remove all the unwanted hair?
Yes! It definitely does. I actually took a picture of the hair it removed. Ummm.. SUPER GROSS! Let’s just say I showed Scott, and he said I wasn’t allowed to put the picture on the blog. Ha! Let me just tell you that you will be amazed at how much hair it removes. I had hair in places I did not know existed, and my skin feels so soft and my makeup application is much better. NO MORE PEACH FUZZ! If you’ve ever tried dermaplaning or have heard of dermaplaning, this is a much cheaper alternative– and best yet, you can do it on your schedule without leaving your house!
Can you use the product on places other than your face?
I tried it on my stomach. After using this, I kind of became addicted to removing hair. If you try this out, you’ll see why! LOL. I would not recommend using it in areas that you have thick or long hairs, but I think it can remove fine hair anywhere you wanted to. I even used it on my toes… Bahahaha! You may need to replace the hair remover replacement heads more often if you’re using it on areas other than your face. But for the record, I have yet to replace them on mine, and I’ve had it for a pretty long time. I know men start growing hair in weird spots… this would be perfect for my Dad’s ears, so I’m hoping my mom buys one ASAP. Okay– I DID NOT just write that? LOL!
Does hair grow back in thicker?
No. I haven’t noticed that hair has grown in thicker in any place where I removed it. I was very worried about this by the way! It does what it claims to do!
Does it come in other colors?
How long does it last?
It uses a standard AA battery, which I have yet to replace. You can also buy hair remover replacement heads here.
